IWEISS worked with designer Douglas Schmidt on the big sun-burst finale drop for a road tour of “42nd Street” using LED technology in a fabric drop. Backdrops for the original show were hard, flown scenery with glass light bulbs, a scenic element that proved to be impossible to reproduce for the tour. The same backdrop was created using Soft-LED drapery programmed with the identical sunburst pattern. It was visually effective yet easy to load in and strike.
