IWEISS recently designed, engineered and installed a motorized truss lighting grid for the Irondale Center for Theater, Education and Outreach located in the large former Sunday school space of the historic Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn. The 53’ x 38’ grid consists of 280′ of 20.5” heavy duty aluminum box truss that is raised by ten one ton chain motors. The grid is rated for an evenly distributed load of 20,000 lbs. As part of the installation, IWEISS installed additional pre-engineered structural supports to the building’s original wooden truss beams.
